Claim Restricted to Patch with Rings
IMPORTANT UPDATE
On November 23, 2011, Justice Strathy approved the discontinuance of the claim in respect of hernia patches that do not contain a PET ring. The claim is now restricted to those meshes which have a ring.
If you were implanted with a mesh that does not have a ring, and you wish to continue to pursue a claim, you should immediately retain a lawyer to provide you with independent advice. There are strict time limits to pursuing such a claim so you should consult your own lawyer immediately if you want to sue because of your medical problems.
Also, please note that the hearing of the certification motion has been adjourned to 2012 to permit further evidence to be considered.
